"The right care and support at the right time"
I am married and have five adult children and two grandchildren. I hold a Master’s degree in Political Science and work as the Executive Director of an organization for people with disabilities.
I have been the chair of the National Language Committee and the group leader. Currently, I am the vice chair of the Audit Committee. I am now seeking renewed trust in the Västra Nyland Welfare Area Council.
I am active and energetic. In my free time, I enjoy jogging and going to the gym. I spend my summers in Snappertuna, which offers plenty of work in nature as well as lovely excursions both in the woods and by the sea."
Important political topics
Safe elderly care
• Timely and accessible care – Elderly individuals should have quick and easy access to healthcare and social services based on their needs. No one should be left without help.
• Secure housing solutions – There should be sufficient service housing and support services throughout the region, enabling seniors to stay at home as long as they wish.
• Adequate staffing – We must ensure a well-resourced workforce in elderly care and improve working conditions for caregivers.
• Preventive measures – Increased investment in healthcare, rehabilitation, and social activities to enhance the quality of life for seniors and reduce loneliness.
• Bilingual and personalized services – Every elderly person has the right to receive care and services in their native language, whether Swedish or Finnish.
Disability Services
• Right to self-determination – People with disabilities should have the right to make decisions about their own lives and receive the support they need to live independently.
• Sufficient resources and faster decisions – Processing times for service decisions must be shortened, and resources for disability services must be secured so that everyone receives the support they are entitled to.
• Accessibility in everyday life – Buildings, public transport, and digital services must be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability.
• Support for relatives and caregivers – Those who care for people with disabilities should receive sufficient support in their role. Family caregivers should have the opportunity to take their entitled days off.
• Bilingual and individualized services – Everyone has the right to receive services in in Finnish or Swedish (national languages), and the support should be tailored to individual needs.
Mental Health
• Timely help – No one should have to wait months for assistance. We must invest in more low-threshold services and faster care pathways.
• Preventive measures – Mental health should be strengthened through investments in exercise, culture, and community. More meeting places and activities are needed to combat loneliness.
• Support in schools – Children and young people must have access to school counselors and psychologists. Low-threshold services should be available near schools or homes. More adults are needed in schools.
• Improved cooperation between stakeholders – Municipalities, the welfare region, associations, and volunteer organizations should work together to provide comprehensive support for those in need.
• Reducing stigma around mental health – We must openly talk about mental health, both in daycare centres and schools, as well as in elderly care.
