Espoo
"Espoo a City for All – a city where everyone can feel a sense of belonging, access the services they need, and live in a safe and pleasant environment."
I am married and have five adult children and two grandchildren. I hold a Master’s degree in Political Science and work as the Executive Director of an organization for people with disabilities.
I have been active in Espoo politics since 2012 and have held various positions: City Board member, group leader, Chair of the Swedish Delegation, and Vice Chair of the Negotiation Delegation. Now, I am seeking renewed trust to continue serving citizens of Espoo in the Espoo City Council.
I am active and energetic. In my free time, I enjoy jogging and going to the gym. I spend my summers in Snappertuna, where I engage in plenty of outdoor work while also enjoying wonderful excursions into the forest and out to sea.
Important political topics
Sustainable and attractive planning
Urban planning is one of the most important tasks of the City of Espoo.
• All planning must be sustainable, and all Espoo residents should always have access to nature.
• When expanding old residential areas, their original character must be taken into account.
• Good planning can help prevent segregation (a balanced mix of rental and owner-occupied housing).
• The archipelago must not be destroyed by oversized construction projects.
• We must protect our diverse environments (forests, sea, shores, fields) and safeguard biodiversity.
Municipal and urban vitality
• Espoo should have a variety of workplaces, ranging from factories and private companies to organizations – the city itself is also an important employer.
• The city should provide efficient services for job seekers and companies looking for employees.
• The city should invest in flexible integration pathways – also in Swedish.
• Active cooperation with civil society on integration issues.
• More support and assistance for young people to help them enter the workforce.
Thriving citizens
• Healthy and well-being residents are the city's greatest resource.
• The city should offer diverse cultural and sports activities for its residents, regardless of age or economic status.
• Extended opening hours for libraries.
• Espoo should actively collaborate with associations and with the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County for the well-being of its residents.
• Investments in communication and information for Espoo residents, at least in Finnish and Swedish, but also in English and possibly in other languages.
