"Kaarina, a growing city, for all of us!"
I'm a new face in local politics.
I've been working with municipalities for almost 26 years, in various capacities in the field of rescue services. I understand the broad and varied needs of municipalities and residents.
Kaarina, a growing and interesting city, where I have lived since 2007. In Kaarina, I particularly like the lack of congestion, the proximity to the sea and the emphasis on schooling for young people. A safe living environment is important to me.
As a father of two bilingual primary school-age children, I know the sleepless nights of parents of young children, the challenges of peak years and the needs of ageing relatives.
Important political topics
Sustainable and attractive planning
Kaarina is developing. A fast-growing city needs a far-reaching strategy and vision for a welcoming urban planning. Planning must take into account the needs of people, mobility, nature and business.
Thriving citizens
Well-being is a big picture, made up of many small parts. Services, people and the environment are all part of well-being.
Kaarina has a lot of beautiful nature and marine environment to offer. In the future, we need to make more use of it and create opportunities for residents to enjoy it - this will support everyone's well-being.
Children, Youth, and Families
Children, the makers of the future, need a safe home and an environment in which to grow and learn. Early childhood education and care and school play an important role in guiding future makers towards a good life. As the father of a bilingual family, I would also like to see future children from Kaarina having the opportunity to complete their secondary school and possibly their upper secondary school in Swedish in Kaarina too. This would make life easier for families, support the idea of starting a family and increase equality among young people in their own safe hometown, Kaarina.
