East Uusimaa

"Smooth service for all ages in Eastern Uusimaa."

I am Marica, a 54-year-old who enjoys problem-solving, teamwork, and development.

I am married to Kjell (a nurse and entrepreneur), and we have three adult sons. 30 years ago, we moved from Ostrobothnia to Sibbo. As a special education teacher, I have worked in both smaller and larger schools in Sibbo, Porvoo, and Helsinki. Currently, I am employed as a consultative special education teacher in basic education (preschool - grade 9) in Helsinki.

A key part of my daily work involves guiding and providing professional development for school leaders and staff on issues related to school culture, support measures, and special needs.

I am passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration and believe it is crucial that we make our cooperation smooth – for the benefit of our children and young people.

I am also running in the municipal elections

Thriving children, adolescents and families

Accessible support for children, youth, and families. In my work as a consultative special educator, I encounter children, youth, and families daily who need support in various ways.

Early intervention helps prevent problematic school absenteeism and prevents social exclusion and dropout. Through multi-professional collaboration, we can together create a safer everyday life. Student and health care services need to be close to the school environment. When we, as a welfare area, invest in easily accessible, individualized, and structured joint student care, we are investing in the lives of our children and young people, their families, and the well-being and future of society as a whole.

Safe elderly care

As a candidate, I want to work for eldercare where every elderly person feels safe, respected, and well taken care of. Our elderly population has built our society, and it is our responsibility to ensure that they receive the care and support they deserve.

Safe eldercare means not only professional care but also ensuring that elderly individuals have the opportunity to live a dignified life in a secure and safe environment. We need to ensure that eldercare is adequately staffed, that the staff receives support and appreciation, and that all elderly individuals have access to the resources they need to continue living an active and meaningful life.

Accessible health care

I see access to healthcare as a fundamental right for everyone, regardless of where you live or your background. Our health is our most valuable asset, and we must ensure that all residents, regardless of age or socioeconomic status, have access to quality care.

In many parts of our country, especially in rural areas, it can be difficult to get quick and easy access to care. We need to increase access and ensure that we also have enough resources to meet the demand for healthcare.

Accessible healthcare also means working to reduce waiting times. It is about creating an efficient and well-functioning healthcare structure that makes it easy to get the help we need when we need it.
