"I will do my best for the best of Sipoo!"
I am Marica, a 54-year young woman who enjoys problem-solving, teamwork, and development. I am married to Kjell, and we have three grown-up sons. 30 years ago, we moved from Ostrobothnia to Salpar, where I got my first teaching position. Shortly thereafter, Box became our family's home village.
As a special education teacher, I have worked in both small and large schools in Sipoo, Porvoo, and Helsinki. Today, I work as a consultative special education teacher.
Guiding and providing professional development for school leaders and staff on topics related to school culture, problematic school absenteeism, and special needs is part of my daily work. I am a strong advocate for multidisciplinary collaboration and believe it is of great importance to build trust between schools and homes.
I am also running in the county elections

The best schools
ChatGPT sanoi:
For the best of our children and youth!
The conditions for our children’s and youth’s learning are about school well-being, motivation, and security. This concerns both their present and future; reaching their full potential and learning for life.
Basic education, from preschool to grade 9, is facing a significant legislative revision as early as the fall of 2025. The aim is to reduce municipal differences. The support structures within and between the municipalities' schools will be made more uniform. This will require collaboration and creative use of the municipalities' and schools' resources. As an expert in matters related to schooling and learning, I can and want to be part of influencing this process.
Together, we can work for sustainable learning paths and safe schools in Sipoo!
Sustainable and attractive planning
In Box, we need a public parking lot near the bus stop at Nya Borgåvägen. There is a well-functioning public transportation system to Helsinki and Porvoo, but we lack space to park private cars and other vehicles. A public parking lot in Box would reduce car traffic and be more environmentally friendly. Currently, there is no longer space to park at the previous parking lot as the area is privately owned. The nearest parking for us bus passengers is in Söderkulla.
A concrete change is needed here, and I will work towards it!
Economy & Business
For the best of our entrepreneurs!
Entrepreneurship benefits the municipality's economy and reduces unemployment. In my own family, there are four entrepreneurs, three of whom are young entrepreneurs.
Work and well-being go hand in hand, just as unemployment and poor health do. Let’s make Sipoo an entrepreneur-friendly municipality. Let’s make entrepreneurship even more attractive and smoother in Sipoo. Starting a business requires courage, but also capital. For example, there could be larger and more visible opportunities for entrepreneurs to rent empty and affordable premises from the municipality.
