"With a cool head and a warm heart"
Curious optimist who likes to have a lot going on! I am interested in politics because I want to understand how society works and how to develop society for the better.
I grew up in Nykarleby and now I live in Korsholm with my partner, two small children, three bonus children and two cats. I am on parental leave from my work in home care and will soon be finished with my bachelor's degree in Social Sciences.
I am chairman of the Swedish Women's Association in Korsholm and believe that it is important that all voices are heard in politics. Wellbeing service county representatives must represent the residents, including those who have difficulty getting their voices heard for various reasons.
The welfare sector is facing major challenges, due to insufficient funding in relation to all the tasks that the welfare sector has and the needs that exist. It is frustrating that social and health care cannot get the resources that would be needed, therefore it is all the more important how we decide to use the resources we have.
With a cool head and a warm heart, I am ready to take responsibility and make decisions that are decisive for social and health care in Ostrobothnia, and I would like to be your voice in the wellbeing service county.
Important political topics
Functioning social welfare
Social care is often a bit forgotten when discussing social and health care. Cuts in social care may not have the same immediate effects as cuts in healthcare, but good social care is a cornerstone of social security in our Finnish society, and I particularly want to keep an eye on issues related to social care.
Accessible health care
It should be easy to get in touch with health care. Investments in primary healthcare are needed so that everyone gets help in time, this also reduces the need for specialist healthcare and becomes cheaper in the long run. I think we should dare to think in new ways and test new solutions, e.g. video calls and movable services such as nurses or doctors visiting homes or villages with the necessary equipment in their car. This does not replace local health centers but can serve as a good supplement.
Thriving children, adolescents and families
Investing in children and young people is investing in the future. Long queues for care and social services should always be avoided, especially when it comes to children and young people. The lack of school psychologists is a serious problem in Ostrobothnia today.
