Korsholm

"With a cool head and a warm heart"

Curious optimist who likes to have a lot going on! I am interested in politics because I want to understand how society works and how to develop society for the better.

I live in Tölby in Korsholm with my partner, two small children, three bonus children and two cats. I am on parental leave from my work in home care and will soon be finished with my bachelor's degree in Social Sciences. In my spare time I spend time with my family, read and like to go to art exhibitions and the theatre.

I am chairman of the Swedish Women's Association in Korsholm and believe that it is important that all voices are heard in politics. The municipal council must represent the residents, including those who have difficulty getting their voices heard for various reasons.

Korsholm is a diverse and geographically vast municipality with many different wishes and interests. I am concerned that decisions made should be favorable to as many people as possible and believe that everyone wins by cooperating and ensuring what is best for the municipality as a whole.

For the past four years, I have been a member of the audit committee, which has given me a good insight into the municipality's operations in all different sectors. Now I am ready for new assignments and would like to be your voice in the council.

Important political topics

The best schools

Children spend a large part of their waking hours at school, so for the children's future it is important that schools are safe places for everyone, where children get the basic knowledge needed in life and in further studies. I am grateful to all the committed teachers in our schools, who are doing their best in a situation when the demands on them are increasing but the resources are not keeping up. We need to support the teachers so they can continue to do what they do best - to make the world's best school even better.

Municipal and urban vitality

Who does not want to live in a viable municipality? A municipality with a forward-thinking spirit is pleasant to live in and also means that there is tax money for the service that the municipality's residents need and want. Korsholm is already one of the most viable municipalities in Ostrobothnia, whose population grows every year. This is a trend that we will continue - and strengthen!

Thriving citizens

Everyone has the right to feel good and well-being of residents is also important for society to function well. We must take care of ourselves and each other, and society must be there with help and support when it's needed. Social and health care is managed by the wellbeing service county, but the municipality is responsible for preventive work and this is a task we must focus on.
