Ida
Wikman
Ostrobothnia
My name is Ida Wikman and I am a candidate in the county election.
In 2023, I graduated with a Master of Business Administration from the School of Business, Economics and Law at Åbo Akademi University in Turku, focusing on leadership, strategy, and organization. For the past year I have worked as the organisation coordinator for SFP in Ostrobothnia.
In my spare time, I like to get involved in various associations, and do sports and you will usually find me walking around with a podcast in my ears.
Although I have lived both abroad and in different cities in Finland, my home has always been Kaskö. Experiencing different healthcare systems has really made me appreciate the safe and high-quality care we have in Finland. At the same time, there is always room for improvement, and we can be inspired by solutions from other countries to improve accessibility and service. For example, I think that the system of having a named doctor and a named nurse, which is already in practice in other countries, is an interesting possibility that could make healthcare both more personal and more efficient.

A personal doctor system should be introduced to improve continuity of care, even if it requires extra resources for a while.

We should reduce reliance on locum doctors, while ensuring that no one is left without care.

Yes, but there must be alternatives such as healthcare buses or appointments in rural areas too.

If you could give a superpower to your future political leader, what would it be?
I think we would immediately notice a marked difference in people\'s mental and physical health if the environment was cleaned up and we did not have climate anxiety!
