Ostrobothnia

I live together with my family, my husband and two children aged 19 and 16, in the village of Molpe in Korsnäs. I have served three periods in the municipal council of Korsnäs, since 2013, and have been the chairperson of the council since 2021. I have experience in municipal administration and have witnessed the changes that have occurred in the municipalities with the transfer of social and health care, as well as rescue services, to the welfare county. I understand that state funding for welfare, with limited resources for the welfare counties, has made savings necessary, but I think it is a shame that fine and functional service points and elderly care facilities have been closed or are threatened with closure. In the upcoming period, the welfare county should focus on making services easily accessible to residents through individualized solutions, which could involve both digital services and the possibility of service through visits to health care stations or though telephone contact. Receiving care and services in the right place and at the right time to avoid unnecessary queuing and a feeling of not being seen is something I hope the welfare county can achieve in the upcoming period.

During the current period, I have served as a member of the ownership steering section of the Ostrobothnia welfare county. Through this role, I have gained insight into the operations of the welfare county and the activities of the welfare county's various support companies, including cleaning, food, and ICT services.
