"Experience and commitment for Korsnäs' future"

I am married and have two children ages 19 and 16. I was born and raised in Molpe, but I have also lived with my family for a long time in Espoo before we moved back to our roots. I have been a member of the municipal council since 2013 and am now in my third term as an elected representative. I serve as the chairperson of the current municipal council and have previously served as the first and second vice-chairperson of the municipal board. I joined municipal politics because I wanted to be able to influence the direction of my home municipality, and I still have a genuine interest in shaping our common, future in Korsnäs.

The role of the municipality has changed with the transfer of social and health services to Pohjanmaan hyvinvointialue. The focus for the upcoming council term will increasingly shift towards working for a vibrant municipality with a pleasant living environment for the residents. Maintaining the municipality's schools, providing good early childhood education, and ensuring good conditions for leisure activities remain important tasks for the municipality. In Korsnäs, as in many other rural municipalities, the population is unfortunately declining, and the municipality may need to consider "smart shrinking," how we can best continue to maintain good services for the residents. The planned offshore wind farm outside Korsnäs and potential future mining operations in the municipality could provide a boost for the municipality in terms of both employment and tax revenue. However, the municipality must continue to provide good conditions for small-scale entrepreneurship. By planning new residential areas and granting exemptions and flexibility in zoning changes for coastal housing, the municipality can hopefully increase the population.

These are briefly some of my thoughts on Korsnäs municipality, where I feel I have a good understanding of the strengths and weaknesses that exist in the municipality. I am happy to be involved in making joint, wise decisions during the upcoming council term in order to make everyday life for the residents of Korsnäs as good as possible, but also for future generations of Korsnäs residents.

I am also running in the county elections
