"A sustainable and attractive Porvoo - where residents and businesses grow together. "
Hi! My name is Sharie, and I am running in the 2025 municipal elections in Porvoo because I want to be a part of making our already great city even better – a place where everyday life runs smoothly, businesses thrive, and everyone feels included.
I hold two degrees in business administration (vocational qualification & bachelors) and a Master of Science degree in Economics. When I’m not working or engaging in community issues, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, working out at the gym, going for walks, or relaxing on the couch with Netflix.
Considering my experience within marketing and business development, I see opportunities where others may see obstacles. Porvoo must be an attractive home for both current and new residents. To ensure long-term growth, we need to strengthen labor-related immigration, streamline integration, and make it easier for skilled professionals to settle and work here. A thriving city embraces diversity, promotes gender equality, and offers equal opportunities for all. By investing in jobs, innovation, and inclusive services, we can build a future-ready Porvoo.

Economy & Business
Porvoo must continue to grow and thrive. We need to continuously strengthen our local economy and create more opportunities for businesses to expand and establish themselves here. I believe in a future where both small and large companies flourish and contribute to the city's development. We need to foster an environment centered around innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration. By investing in more job opportunities and a robust job market, we can attract both new residents and businesses. We must think long-term, build sustainable solutions, and make Porvoo a place where people want to live, work, and invest.
Sustainable and attractive planning
A vibrant Porvoo requires sustainable and enjoyable urban planning. It's not just about creating modern, functional areas, but also about preserving what makes Porvoo unique. We need to find a balance where new buildings blend seamlessly with the city’s historic charm and existing environment. Meanwhile, we must protect our beautiful nature and develop areas that support both housing and business. Long-term planning that takes into account both future needs and the city’s history, will allow Porvoo to grow in a way that feels right for both current and future generations. By thinking sustainably and creating attractive, lively neighborhoods with a focus on accessibility, green spaces, and good traffic planning, we can make Porvoo a place where people want to live, work, visit, and thrive – today and in the future.
Thriving citizens
Porvoo should be a city where people thrive and want to live, and to achieve that, we must focus on the well-being of our residents. It’s about creating an environment where everyone – regardless of background, age, or life situation – feels included and has access to the services they need. A place with good access to diverse recreational opportunities and meaningful activities. We must invest in both physical and mental health through active leisure activities, cultural initiatives, and social connections. By creating a city where people feel good and have the opportunity to grow, we ensure the well-being of our residents for both current and future generations.
