Ostrobothnia
"For a strong economy, thriving families, and a healthier Finland – together we build a secure future in a region where all generations want to live."
I am a married father of two with roots in Jakobstad, currently living in Vaasa. I have always had an interest in politics and a desire to contribute to positive development. Now, I feel that I am at a stage in life where I want to get involved in politics and work together with others to promote important issues.
My motivation comes from the will to create a secure future for my own children, my loved ones, and all other families in Ostrobothnia. I want to build a city and a region where our youth see their own future, a place where they want to live and stay. Most of my free time is spent with my family, following my children’s various sports activities.
I hold a degree in economics and have also pursued engineering studies. During my career, I have experienced being an entrepreneur and worked in various roles in sales, export, and business development. I have been active in many forums and held positions of trust where business and community development have been central themes.
Important political topics
Thriving children, adolescents and families
Safe and well-cared-for children and young people are the foundation of a strong society. I want to work for a future where every family receives the support they need. The opportunity to become a parent should be available to those who wish for it. A safe childhood lays the foundation for meaningful life and good conditions in school and daily life. Together, we can create a better and more sustainable Ostrobothnia for the next generation.
Safe elderly care
We must care for those who have built our society. Every senior citizen deserves a safe and dignified old age. I want to work for high-quality elderly care where everyone receives the support, care, and security they need – at the right time and with heart. We must create a society where we can trust that we will receive the care we deserve.
Mental Health
Mental health is becoming one of the greatest challenges of our time. Mental well-being is just as important as physical health. I want to work for faster access to help, stronger preventive measures, and a society where no one is left alone with their mental illness. Belonging creates safety and well-being.

It is important that the wellbeing services county of Ostrobothnia has a central hospital with full emergency services.
It is, of course, important that we have a central hospital with full emergency services that serves the residents. This provides the opportunity for specialized care, more efficient use of resources, including through improved coordination. We must actively invest in developing the central hospital and collaborate with research institutions and universities. All of this improves our ability to attract the expertise we need.

The geographical distance to services is more important than whether the services are located within municipal boundaries.
When it comes to access to healthcare, I believe that the right care at the right time is more important than the geographical distance. However, it is important that we do not make hasty decisions about dismantling functioning units, where short-term savings can lead to increased costs in the long run.

There should be more mobile services, such as health buses and remote consultations.
We should definitely make use of new technology and new services as we develop our welfare area. In various fields, home visits, health buses, and remote consultations are excellent solutions for more efficient use of our resources. However, we must also remember and cherish human contact as an important factor in providing quality and safe care.

Wellbeing services counties must increase investments in preventive healthcare, even if it means that other types of care receive fewer resources.
We must invest in preventive care while ensuring that daily and urgent care is managed in the area. It is important to prioritize where we allocate our resources to achieve the best possible long-term solution. For example, if we do not prioritize the physical and mental well-being of young people at an early stage, the costs will be much higher later on. This also leads to fewer resources for, for example, elderly care.

A personal doctor system should be introduced to improve continuity of care, even if it requires extra resources for a while.
A personal doctor system can provide us patients with more secure and personalized care. By having a regular doctor, one also gains quicker access to healthcare, better continuity, and more preventive measures. Investing resources in this will save us money in the long run.
6 / 13
Wellbeing services counties should prohibit the use of temporary agency doctors.
The shortage of doctors in certain areas makes locum doctors an important complement to guarantee care. For some areas, it can also be more cost-effective to purchase services than to create the service themselves. We need to ensure that we monitor this development and identify the needs in our area.

More shelter spaces should be established to help individuals subjected to violence.
It is obvious that we must be able to offer shelter places to everyone who unfortunately finds themselves in a situation where this is needed.

To shorten waiting times, wellbeing services counties should increase the use of service vouchers.
There are studies showing positive effects from the use of service vouchers in healthcare. By using service vouchers, we increase choice and flexibility, reduce waiting times. Due to competition, it can also drive up service quality and improve cost efficiency.
9 / 13
Healthcare should be centralized if it saves money or improves quality.
There are areas, such as various types of specialized care, where there are advantages to centralizing certain services to ensure the best possible quality and accessibility. At the same time, we must ensure that basic services are available in all areas so that we do not risk inequalities in healthcare.
10 / 13
Funding and resources for rescue services should be prioritized higher, even if it means cuts in other sectors.
The rescue services need to receive sufficient funding to carry out their missions and should always be compared to ensuring adequate funding for other sectors. We cannot simply pit different functions against each other but must always consider the whole picture.
11 / 13
Undocumented migrants should have the right to non-urgent healthcare.
We need to ensure everyone\'s right to urgent healthcare, especially for women and children. The state needs to take responsibility and ensure that undocumented individuals do not burden the regional healthcare system and worsen the care for the residents of the welfare area.
12 / 13
More emphasis should be placed on training healthcare staff in gender diversity and sexual diversity.
Healthcare personnel need sufficient training in handling these issues to be able to provide safe care for everyone.

If you could give a superpower to your future political leader, what would it be?
I believe in looking forward, staying focused on what is important, and contributing to a strong sense of future hope for our entire society. I believe in making an impact by making decisions based on sufficient information and facts, where our most important values guide the development. Together, we make the future a little better, one decision at a time.
