Espoo

"For an entrepreneur-friendly and multicultural Espoo"

I have lived in Espoo since the early 70s and have seen the city progress and develop into, in my opinion, the best city in Finland. The proximity to Helsinki, as well as the sea and all the beautiful nature, are things that are important to me and the reason why I want to ensure that the city continues to develop in a positive way.

For me, particularly important issues regarding Espoo's development concern entrepreneurship and a multicultural community. For Espoo to succeed in the global competition for investments, skilled labor and sustainable economic growth, we should focus on helping companies start their operations and grow and develop profitably. Functioning and good business services, sensible planning, smooth procedures for issuing various permits and assistance in finding skilled labor are examples of measures with which the city can create an entrepreneur-friendly environment. These are also issues that I have worked with for several years.

As Espoo is also one of the cities that best attracts immigrants, it is of utmost importance that we do everything to make these immigrants feel welcome and that they find meaningful work to integrate into Espoo. This is a matter that is extremely important to me, and I believe that we cannot afford to miss out on all the knowledge and experience that these knowledgeable and often highly educated people bring with them.

Finally, I would like to point out that I have several years of experience in business development, recruitment, integration and municipal decision-making and cooperation. I am positive, cooperative and a developer who also has his feet firmly on the ground. Since I am equipped with two ears and one mouth, I use them in the same proportion and gladly listen to your wishes and thoughts on how we can make Espoo even better.

Municipal and urban vitality

A vibrant municipality/city attracts businesses, investments, and residents. For a municipality/city to be vibrant, many things must be in order. The aforementioned conditions for a functioning business community, an equal labor market, and a good environment to live in form a foundation to build on.

In a vibrant city, it is also necessary to ensure that housing, construction, and planning with sustainable and pleasant planning, which in turn provides opportunities for leisure activities and culture, form a whole where the parts support each other and lead to all residents feeling well and enjoying themselves. It is therefore important to be able to see how the different parts affect the whole and how various measures can influence how well the city reaches the goals set in its strategy.

We already have several rather spread-out neighborhoods, and personally, I think it\'s nice that we also have forests, fields, and nature in general close by when moving between these neighborhoods. Therefore, I think we should rather develop the existing neighborhoods than necessarily create new ones.
