"A thriving society where everyone feels safe, included, and valued "
With two terms as a municipal politician in the city of Vaasa and one term in the Ostrobothnia Welfare Region, I have worked to shape policies that put people first. I work for a Vaasa and an Ostrobothnia where security, community, and vitality are at the center. We need a municipality and a welfare region that invest in equality, education, and an inclusive future where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
In the coming years, I want to continue working for a safe and fair school system, a society where no one is left behind, and a strong welfare region where resources are distributed fairly. We need to create better conditions for integration, invest in low-threshold activities, and develop policies that see the whole person. At the same time, we must manage our economy responsibly to maintain and improve the services and investments that are essential for our communities.
Healthcare and social services must be accessible and fair for everyone, regardless of where they live. I work for shorter healthcare queues, a stronger focus on preventive care, and better working conditions for healthcare and social care professionals. Social services must have the resources to support those in need in a timely manner and provide security in everyday life. I want to continue working for healthcare and social services that are there when needed, ensuring that people receive help on time and that staff have the resources required to do their jobs properly.
These are issues I already work with today and want to continue driving forward. That is why I ask for your support to continue working for a more equal, inclusive, and thriving society.
Current positions of trust:

• Member of the Section for Promoting Well-being and Health in the
Ostrobothnia Welfare Region
• Vice Chair of the Swedish People’s Party

In my free time, I enjoy working out at the gym. I am also studying for a Master of Business Administration at Novia alongside my work.
Important political topics
Children, Youth, and Families
Security and equal education are a triumph for Finland.
Every child deserves a safe and stable upbringing where opportunities are not determined by background or financial status. Early childhood education must be accessible to all, and schools must provide every student with the support they need to succeed. No child should feel excluded or be subjected to bullying, discrimination, or racism. A safe and inclusive school environment must be a given.
The mental health of young people must be taken seriously. No one should have to wait for help when they are struggling. We need more school psychologists, counselors, and low-threshold support services so that young people receive the help they need in time. Investing in well-being is investing in the future.
Families should be able to balance work and everyday life without stress and worry. Childcare must be flexible and adapted to the different needs of families. Caregivers and those who look after their loved ones must receive the support they need. No one should be left alone with too much responsibility. When we invest in children, young people, and families, we invest in the entire society.
Municipal and urban vitality
Our cities and municipalities must be safe, vibrant, and welcoming for all. We need to invest in housing, employment, and quality of life, creating spaces where people genuinely want to live. To succeed, we must ensure diverse housing options that accommodate different life situations and build strong foundations for jobs and entrepreneurship, enabling people to sustain themselves and stay in their communities.
Urban development is not just about buildings and roads; it is about meeting needs, safety, and a sense of belonging. A great example is the development of the Wärtsilä area, where we have the opportunity to create something unique. This district should not just be another residential area but an integrated and dynamic part of the city where people can live, work, and connect. The cities and municipalities of the future must be places where people feel at home, can build their lives, and see a future.
Green spaces, parks, and natural environments make cities more inviting and accessible for everyone. We must invest in sports facilities and low-threshold recreational activities, ensuring that people of all ages and economic backgrounds can engage in physical activity and social interaction. Safe gathering spaces for young people and expanded opportunities for culture and community engagement should be a core part of urban planning. A thriving society is one where people have both space to breathe and room to grow.
Equality and Equity
A movement is underway that seeks to turn back time. A movement that questions the right to be oneself, restricts personal freedoms, and glorifies a past where roles were rigid and power was concentrated in the hands of a few. It is clear to me that equality and diversity are under attack, and this is no coincidence.
There is an active effort to roll back the progress we have all fought for. I hear how women’s rights are being questioned, equality dismissed as unnecessary, and diversity framed as a problem. A narrative is being pushed that society was somehow better in the past—but better for whom?
I refuse to accept a future where freedom, equality, and human rights are eroded. The gender pay gap must be closed, and the workplace must be equally accessible to all. Power must be distributed fairly, ensuring that women, minorities, and underrepresented groups have the same opportunities to lead and influence. No one should be held back by their gender, background, or identity, whether in school, the workplace, or society at large.
The right to one's own body, freedom from violence, and the ability to live without fear of hate and harassment are fundamental. We must continue to build a society where everyone—regardless of origin, gender, or ability—has the right to participate, be heard, and feel a sense of belonging.

Early childhood education should be free for everyone.
Early childhood education lays the foundation for a childs future learning, development, and wellbeing. Making it free ensures equal opportunities for all children regardless of family income and reduces social inequality. It supports working parents, strengthens social integration, and leads to better educational outcomes in the long run. Investing in early education is investing in a stronger, more equitable society.

Schools should prioritize traditional textbooks over digital learning materials.
Both traditional textbooks and digital learning materials are essential for a well-rounded education. Textbooks provide structure, deep focus, and equal access, while digital tools enhance interactivity, adaptability, and real-time information. A balanced approach ensures that students benefit from the depth of traditional learning and the flexibility of modern technology, preparing them for the future while maintaining strong foundational skills.

One of the municipality’s most important tasks is to invest in sports facilities and opportunities for exercise and recreation.
Investing in sports facilities and opportunities for exercise and recreation is one of the municipality’s most important responsibilities because physical activity promotes public health, strengthens communities, and enhances quality of life. Well-maintained and accessible sports facilities encourage an active lifestyle, reducing the risk of chronic illnesses and improving mental well-being. Beyond health benefits, sports and recreation create social inclusion by bringing people together, fostering teamwork, and providing meaningful activities for all age groups. Youth sports, in particular, help prevent social isolation, promote discipline, and reduce the risk of delinquency.

It is important to provide all residents with equal opportunities for cultural activities.
Culture creates spaces for people to meet, strengthens communities, and provides opportunities for self-expression and growth. Access to culture also contributes to better public health and well-being, both through creative activities and participation. Cultural activities foster creativity, strengthen identity, and provide meaningful experiences regardless of age or background. To ensure that everyone can participate, culture must be economically and geographically accessible. A municipality that invests in culture invests in education, social cohesion, and quality of life. When we make culture open and available to all, we create a richer, more dynamic, and more equal society where people can meet, be inspired, and grow.

The municipality should introduce or improve opportunities for residents to influence how municipal funds are used through participatory budgeting.
Allowing residents to influence how municipal resources are allocated through participatory budgeting can be a way to strengthen democracy and increase transparency in decision-making. By involving people in the distribution of a portion of the budget, the municipality can better address local needs and foster engagement in shared concerns. At the same time, there are challenges to consider. For the system to function fairly, all groups in society must have a genuine opportunity to participate; otherwise, there is a risk that some voices will be heard more than others. The decision-making process must also be clear and well-structured to ensure realistic expectations and a resource distribution that benefits the entire municipality.

The municipality should invest in public transportation.
The municipality should invest in public transportation because it promotes sustainability, accessibility, and efficiency. A well-functioning public transit system reduces emissions, supports the green transition, and helps combat climate change by decreasing reliance on private cars. Reliable and affordable public transport also makes daily life easier by ensuring that everyone, regardless of income or location, has access to work, education, and essential services. It reduces traffic congestion, making transportation more efficient for all road users. Investing in public transit is not just an environmental choice but also a social and economic one. It strengthens local economies by improving mobility and creating jobs, while also enhancing quality of life by offering a convenient, cost-effective alternative to private vehicles.

It should be possible to be a resident in more than one municipality, for example, through digital municipal citizenship.
The current system in Finland is based on a clear connection between population registration and municipal services, where tax revenues finance schools, social support, and other municipal activities. Being registered in multiple municipalities would require a solution for fair distribution of these resources. At the same time, people`s lifestyles are changing, and many live and work in different municipalities. A digital model that allows individuals to participate in multiple municipalities without affecting tax distribution could be a possible way forward. This issue requires careful examination to find a balance between individuals ability to influence and municipalities need for a stable financial foundation and fair resource allocation.

The municipality should better facilitate the expansion of renewable energy, such as solar and wind power.
The municipality should support the expansion of renewable energy, such as solar and wind power, to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, lower emissions, and combat climate change. By making it easier for households, businesses, and public institutions to invest in renewable energy, the municipality can promote innovation, create jobs, and strengthen energy security. Investing in renewables leads to lower energy costs, improved air quality, and a more sustainable future. To succeed, clear incentives, simplified permit processes, and the integration of renewable energy into urban planning are essential.

The municipality should mix more housing types in planning than is currently the case.
The municipality should include a greater variety of housing types to promote diversity, accessibility, and sustainability. A mix of rental and owner-occupied homes, student housing, and senior-friendly living creates inclusive neighborhoods, prevents segregation, and allows people to stay in their communities as their needs change. It also makes housing more affordable and ensures essential workers can live near their jobs. By adjusting zoning laws and planning policies, the municipality can support mixed housing developments that create vibrant, resilient, and future-proof communities.

The municipality should introduce anonymous recruitment.
The municipality should introduce anonymous recruitment to ensure fair hiring, reduce bias, and promote equal opportunities. By removing names, age, and background from initial applications, candidates are judged solely on their skills and experience, not personal factors. This strengthens diversity, inclusivity, and trust in the hiring process while ensuring that the best-qualified individuals get the job. A fair recruitment system benefits both employees and the municipality by creating a more competent, representative, and innovative workforce.

If you could give a superpower to your future political leader, what would it be?
If I could give a superpower to my future political leader, it would be the ability to make people truly see and understand each other. Politics is not just about decisions; it’s about bridging divides, creating common ground, and making sure no one is left behind. With this power, every voice would be heard, and every perspective would be valued. It would cut through fear, misinformation, and division, allowing real progress to happen. A leader who can unite people, inspire action, and push forward meaningful change without losing sight of human dignity is exactly what the world needs.
