"Equality and sustainable growth"
I recently moved to Jakobstad and work as a legal counsel at Snellmans. Before that, I spent nearly 18 years as a legal counsel at Wärtsilä in Vaasa and was actively involved in local politics for four years.
In my free time, I enjoy going to concerts and the theater – it’s wonderful to live in a town with such a vibrant cultural scene as Jakobstad! Traveling abroad with my boyfriend Mika and his two children brings a refreshing change from everyday life.
I want to be your voice for an open, growing, and international Jakobstad. Feel free to reach out via Instagram, phone, or email.

We need a youth center in the town center.
Pietarsaari needs a youth center in the heart of the city, providing young people with a safe and inviting space to hang out, meet friends, and join in various activities. Its central location would make it easily accessible to everyone. A youth center would foster community, reduce loneliness, and create opportunities for events, games, and other meaningful ways to spend free time.

Considering the development and competitiveness of the business sector, we should merge with neighboring municipalities.
Exploring the potential for municipal mergers in the future could be beneficial. While preserving local culture and identity is essential, a more streamlined administration could bring advantages. A larger regional entity would also strengthen our position in national and international competition.

We need more tourism investments in Fäboda.
Fäboda is a breathtaking natural destination, drawing visitors with its scenic beaches, hiking trails, and tranquil seaside atmosphere. Investing in tourism supports local businesses and fosters sustainable growth in the area. Moreover, it strengthens Pietarsaari’s appeal and enhances the city\'s reputation both nationally and internationally.

Early childhood education should be free for everyone.
Reasonable daycare fees are an essential part of municipal services, but daycare doesn’t need to be entirely free for everyone.

Schools should prioritize traditional textbooks over digital learning materials.
Absolutely!

One of the municipality’s most important tasks is to invest in sports facilities and opportunities for exercise and recreation.
Movement is medicine! The diverse sports and exercise opportunities provided by the municipality enhance well-being—and in the long run, also help reduce healthcare costs.

It is important to provide all residents with equal opportunities for cultural activities.
Pietarsaari is a city of culture, and we can take great pride in it.

The municipality should introduce or improve opportunities for residents to influence how municipal funds are used through participatory budgeting.
In Jakobstad, the budget for participatory budgeting in 2025 is 15,000 euros. I think this is a suitable level. Let\'s continue!

The municipality should invest in public transportation.
Especially the \"train bus\" from Jakobstad to Pedersöre station should run every day, including Saturdays.
10 / 14
It should be possible to be a resident in more than one municipality, for example, through digital municipal citizenship.
Keep it simple!

The municipality should better facilitate the expansion of renewable energy, such as solar and wind power.
Solar power and wind power are part of future energy solutions, which is why there must also be space for them in our region. The landowner must receive fair compensation.

The municipality should mix more housing types in planning than is currently the case.
The urban environment must be actively developed in a way that ensures everyone has a good place to live and that different areas do not become too segregated.
13 / 14
The municipality should introduce anonymous recruitment.
Anonymous recruitment reduces prejudice and discrimination by concealing candidates\' personal information, such as gender and ethnic background, at an early stage. This promotes fair assessment, diversity, and creates a more equitable recruitment process that focuses on candidates\' competencies and skills.

If you could give a superpower to your future political leader, what would it be?
Climate change and loss of biodiversity are the great challenges of our time, and together we can solve them. A superpower to do just that would be a great thing!
