"A fair distribution does not always mean an equal one."
well-functioning school is the foundation of a good education, and education, in turn, is the foundation of a functioning society where individuals are capable of critical and independent thinking. Finland is rich in having two official languages and we must cherish the minority Swedish language
The status of the Swedish language in Finland, as well as school and youth issues, are close to my heart. The school environment and the journey to school must be safe, and we must continue to develop youth work while increasing resources to prevent bullying, support school motivation, and reduce absenteeism. More resources for special education, more school assistants, and smaller class sizes are investments that will pay themselves off in the long run. Good cooperation between home and school strengthens the sense of security in our young people’s daily lives.
I am the chair of the board at Vindängen School and have previously served for many years as chair and board member of the school's and daycare’s parents’ association. I am a mother of three school-aged children and work daily with children who need special support due to functional limitations. My professional background is mainly in special education, technical sales, and customer service. In addition to work, my time is spent driving my children to their after school activities, singing, and goofing around with our dog.
I am a strong advocate for the vulnerable and a defender of minorities. A fair distribution does not always mean an equal one—children and young people in need of special support require individually adapted aids and specific assistance to have the same opportunities as others. Equal access to basic education is a right for every child subject to compulsory education in our country.
Important political topics
Children, Youth, and Families
Our childhood strongly affects our future adult life. Every child should have the opportunity to grow up in a safe environment. Resources should be allocated to preventing and treating mental health issues, substance abuse, and youth crime. Investing in our children and young people pays off in the long run.
The best schools
The best school is a safe and inspiring place where every student has the opportunity to develop based on their own abilities. With dedicated teachers, an inclusive environment, and individual support, a love for learning is fostered, creating a strong foundation for the future.
Children and young people in need of special support for learning should receive the help they require. Student engagement in school plays a crucial role in their success in learning and personal growth. Investing in getting children to school—and keeping them there—prevents social exclusion and reduces the need for costly interventions in the future.
Equality and Equity
Equality and equity are the foundation of a fair and inclusive society where everyone has equal opportunities to develop and contribute. When we ensure fair conditions for all, regardless of background or circumstances, we create a stronger and more harmonious community where diversity is seen as an asset.
