"Our welfare depends of a good economy. We must support and take care of our companies. "
I started my studies for the master’s degree in science at the University of Helsinki 1961. I performed studies in physics, chemistry and mathematics. After the examination I got a position for postgraduate studies at my university. I was awarded the degree Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) 1972 and the Title of Docent (Associate Professor) 1974.
During all my career I have performed teaching on the university level, and I have been involved in research work in physics. The research in science is very international and consequently I have been involved in international exchange programs. I have worked in longer periods in Sweden and shorter in Denmark, England and France. I was also a member of the bord of the University of Helsinki för 12 years.
Due to my achieved experience in research I think that I can deal with the planning and purchasing in the administration of the City of Helsinki. I have also been involved in teaching and environment administration in the City of Helsinki.
I am actively following the discussions in our society, and I enjoy walks in the nature and outdoor works at my country house.
