I was born in Vasa, moved away to study, and returned later to settle down in my home town, a city that has given me and my family so much. I now feel that it is my turn to give something in return and work for a healthy, welcoming and vibrant Vasa, characterized by a strong sense of community, collaboration and a forward-looking approach.
I graduated with the title Master of Arts, focusing on languages, business administration and pedagogy. I have spent the last 12 years in marketing and communication within the international energy sector.
As a mother to three teenagers I have had the privilege of being able to follow and support, in various roles, meaningful and safe leisure activities for children and young adults for years, especially within different sports associations in the area. The sense of community, the networks and what we can achieve together are priceless.
Close to my heart is making sure our children and young adults have access to meaningful leisure activities and nice, safe meeting places, in addition to an inspiring school where they can learn and feel good. Likewise, our elderly people should be able to feel safe and a strong sense of community growing older in our city.
A variety of recreational alternatives for all ages, easily accessible recreational areas and green spaces, nice residential areas at all stages in life, as well as a rich cultural offering all contribute to increasing the general well-being and strengthening the sense of belonging and community.
This creates the best possible foundation for a vibrant, dynamic and welcoming Vaasa that also attracts new inhabitants, businesses, tourists and students.
In the winter I charge my batteries on the skiing track or in the swimming pool if lack of snow. I enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors and in the archipelago. Fun practices with the aesthetic group gymnastics team and Pilates group are weekly habits. I also value the wide cultural offering we have the privilege of enjoying, and most importantly, spending time with my loved ones.
