"I want all Finns to feel well and safe."
I am an immigrant from South Sudan who came to this country about 35 years ago and settled in Turku, Western Finland. The first time I ran for Turku Municipal Council on the RKP ticket was in 1996. I have also lived and worked in Norway. I have completed a two-year training course in metal painting and worked for Aurakorro Oy at Masayards Telakka in Turku in the 1990s. I have 8 adult children and 8 grandchildren, all living in Finland and the youngest is only 3 months old. The youngest in the family is 2.5 years old.
Important political topics
Thriving citizens
Varha should invest more in rural areas. I want small health care units to survive in the future. Health services must be equal for the whole population.
Culture and Leisure
I want to ensure that municipalities provide equal access to cultural activities, leisure activities, training times and facilities, regardless of gender or age.
I want to strengthen the position of the Sámi and ensure their right to cultural self-determination.
I want more and more people to integrate into society in Swedish and for information on integration to be provided in both mother tongues.
Economy & Business
I want to keep municipal and property taxes at a reasonable level.
I want to increase cooperation between municipalities and business to create optimal conditions for investment and entrepreneurship.
I will ensure that municipalities play an active role in improving labour migration, through international recruitment and a welcoming family policy.
