"For a More Sustainable Future for Everyone"
I am a second-generation Swedish People’s Party (SFP) politician from Kokkola. I am married to Tomas and the mother of two active football players in primary school. I have been more or less politically active since high school but have always been engaged in decision-making in various ways, whether through student councils and associations, student union, or local and party politics. I am a board member of SFP’s local branch in Kokkola, a deputy member of the Section for Swedish Education Services, and a member of SFP’s party council. In my free time, I go to the gym, sing in a rock cover band, train goalkeepers in one of my son's football teams, and am actively involved in my home congregation and national church.
Important political topics
The best schools
Children and young people are our future, which is why we must ensure that all children and youth have the best opportunities to succeed in life. Schools need more resources, especially more adults, who can support children in having the best conditions for learning. We also need to ensure that the physical learning environment, i.e., the school building and playground, supports learning and children’s creativity.
Forerunners in climate and the environment
Kokkola and Finland have all the potential in the world to become the best at green development. There is no point in complaining that some other country on the other side of the world is worse than us in terms of climate emissions. We gain nothing by blaming others when Finland annually consumes resources equivalent to 3-4 planets. We need to look in the mirror, make corrective actions, and be leaders and innovators in developing green energy. We must be willing to make sacrifices so that the next generation can have a better future.
Culture and Leisure
Culture and leisure have always been essential for people’s well-being. That is why I want to work to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to access the city’s cultural offerings in their own mother tongue, to support children’s and young people’s physical and mental well-being by making sure everyone has access to a hobby without having to worry about the costs. This requires a strong network from the city’s side, but also dedicated adults who are willing to support children and young people in their artistic and sports activities.
