"Larsmo, home where my heart is"
My name is Niina Clement. I'm 47 years of age, born and rased in Larsmo. I'm a proud resident of Larsmo, who has returned back to her roots. My experience has taught me that the grass is not always greener on the other side. I live together with my daughter in Bosund. My mother tongue is Swedish, but I speak Finnish as well.
I have always been curious at life and open for new things. I like to meet new people, you always learn something from others. I like to travel. I relax with knitting and try to be active by biking to work as often as possible.
I have worked as a nurse for 26 years now. I have a lot of experience from healthcare. I have worked in Åland, Sweden, Norway, Holland and Belgium. In Finland both in big and small hospitals. Now I work at the central hospital in Kokkola, which I have done for the latest 14 years.
At my work I meet a lot of different people, from infants to elderly. I meet people in their most vulnerable and difficult moments. In these moments you need to stop for a moment and take your time to see the human. This has to be possible in a welfare community.
I have always been interested in politics and social issues. I would like to continue the good work that's been done in Larsmo, for all residents of Larsmo. My background has given me a wide perspective at life. With a curious and humble attitude I'm gladly your candidate in the municipal elections 2025.
Important political topics
Equality and Equity
All residents of Larsmo are important for Larsmo. This should be seen also in politics and decision making.
Thriving citizens
We will continue to be the happiest municipality in Finland. Everybody has the right to feel safe and be thriving.
Loneliness is about to become a national health problem in Finland. That's why I would like to pay special attention to this group of people in Larsmo, both young and old. This is something we need to work together for to prevent.
Sustainable and attractive planning
Larsmo is a good municipality with stable resources. The healthy entrepreneurship that we have in Larsmo should be valued also in the future.
Different needs and situations should be taken in consideration, for example enough of smaller housing and rental housing.
In planning we need to make sure to preserve enough of naturspace to prevent overbuilding. Well maintained public beaches and nature trails are beneficial for the well-being of us all. Everybody should have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful nature in Larsmo. It should also be accessible for wheelchairs, prams and so on.
Candidate's answers in election machine

Early childhood education should be free for everyone.
Not financially sustainable. There is a risk of misusing the system and taxpayers money.
2 / 11
Schools should prioritize traditional textbooks over digital learning materials.
In today\'s society we need both. I\'m a bit concerned about the time children and young people spend in the virtual world. The nurse in me is horrified over the possible problems with sight that could occur over time.

One of the municipality’s most important tasks is to invest in sports facilities and opportunities for exercise and recreation.
This is important, but we need to have enough of resources for other things too.
4 / 11
It is important to provide all residents with equal opportunities for cultural activities.
Everybody has the right to enjoy culture, in some way, shape or form.
5 / 11
The municipality should introduce or improve opportunities for residents to influence how municipal funds are used through participatory budgeting.
This could give people the feeling of participation in decisions.
6 / 11
The municipality should invest in public transportation.
I don\'t think this is realistic in a municipal like Larsmo.
7 / 11
It should be possible to be a resident in more than one municipality, for example, through digital municipal citizenship.
Feels somewhat problematic, for example when it comes to municipal taxes. Maybe not impossible?
8 / 11
The municipality should better facilitate the expansion of renewable energy, such as solar and wind power.
9 / 11
The municipality should mix more housing types in planning than is currently the case.
Smaller housing and rental housing would be necessary.
10 / 11
The municipality should introduce anonymous recruitment.
Not a good idea.

If you could give a superpower to your future political leader, what would it be?
I get sick of corruption in all its forms! Someone that is dishonest and takes advantage of our tax money....at the same time there isn\'t enough of tax money and life is getting more expensive all the time for all of us.
