"Entrepreunial, Compassionate, Enthusiastic"
I am originally from Kabul, Afghanistan. I moved to Jakobstad in 2013 and have basically lived here ever since.
I come from humble circumstances, with a mother who worked day and night to support my siblings and me. She had become a widow during the civil war in the 1990s. Despite that, I was the first girl in my home village to attend high school and study at a university in Kabul. There, I studied law, but unfortunately, I was unable to complete my studies because my family decided that I should move to Germany, which I did during my final semester. In Germany, I lived in Bonn for two years before eventually moving to Jakobstad.
I am a trained childcare worker, but since 2020, I have been running the restaurant Kabulistan.
Last autumn, I took the initiative to establish the association Omed rf., which works for women's and girls' rights and their access to education and livelihood opportunities. I am a member of the board.
Important political topics
Sustainable and attractive planning
Sustainability and livability are important aspects of city planning. I want better and more efficient public transportation in Jakobstad. This is a sustainable and environmentally smart solution for helping people move around the city. Not everyone has access to a car; for example, many elderly people and immigrants could benefit from a well-functioning public transportation system. Additionally, those who currently drive within the city could switch to using public transport instead. Another positive effect would be making the city more vibrant.
The city needs revitalization. I want to create more opportunities for small businesses to thrive. Businesses bring life to the city.
Municipal and urban vitality
For me, vibrant municipalities and cities mean more jobs, more life, and more activity. I want people to be eager to move to Jakobstad. Jakobstad should be both attractive and capable of retaining its residents and businesses
Thriving citizens
The city must provide opportunities for the well-being of its residents, both through sports and fitness services, as well as services for those who do not enjoy winter sports. It is important that everyone finds a way to stay active, connect with others, and feel at home in the city
