Jakobstad

"A good city, made better through development together! Bilingualism, multiculturalism, tourism, and rich history – a city for everyone!"

I am a committed resident of Jakobstad, with roots in the city dating back to its founding, but I also have strong ties to both Pedersöre and Larsmo. Urban planning and development are my passions, and I have had the opportunity to make a real impact, including through my work in the general plan working group for 2013–2025.

My political career began in 2005 as an independent. I have been actively involved in politics for 20 years and have held positions in the city board, the finance and corporate committee, and the boards of Fastighets Ab Ebba and Jakobstad Harbour Ltd. Over the years, I have also served as a member of the technical committee, the environmental and building committee, and as chair of the board of the Swedish Workers’ Institute. I have submitted motions for the development of both Fäboda and the Old Harbour – both important issues for Jakobstad’s future.

History is close to my heart, especially the city’s maritime heritage. That is why I am actively involved in the development of the Shipyard, the Vega, and Jakobstads Wapen. My interest in history aligns with my work in strengthening local tourism, while also ensuring environmental sustainability and biodiversity.

I am passionate about creating a pleasant and functional urban environment, supporting children’s education, and ensuring that our city develops with senior citizens in mind. In my daily work as a process developer for international affairs at the Digital and Population Data Agency, I have learned to think long-term – a mindset that also guides my political engagement.

I am married, have two adult children, and share my home with both a cat and a dog. I live in a bilingual family where both languages are a natural part of everyday life. I also have a deep appreciation for historical buildings and am the caretaker of a cultural heritage site in Svinören, Larsmo – a manor-style villa from 1894.

I want to continue working to make Jakobstad even better. I am a doer – not a talker. With experience, dedication, and curiosity, I drive forward meaningful change.
