"Turku must be green, joyful and vital!"
Real estate manager, former teacher and parents activist. Firts bass, avid reader and a proud grandpa, to boot.
Important political topics
Children, Youth, and Families
We must provide healthy buildings to all kids, including nice playgrounds and schoolyards. We must facilitate good and affordable hobbies, where new friends can be found. This benefits the whole family.
Housing and Construction
We need green areas in all places.
We must not build too tightly, green areas and trees cannot be substituted by green roofs.
Every part of the city should have different kinds of housing and apartments of different sizes. Segregation between different parts must not be allowed.
Municipal and urban vitality
Vitality comes from work, culture and from meeting - and really seeing - other people.
The trafic needs to run smoothly for everybody. This needs not be a tram, necessarily.

Early childhood education should be free for everyone.
It would be good if everybody could participate. The kids learn from each other, and they get used to being with each other.

Schools should prioritize traditional textbooks over digital learning materials.
I have used electronic materials in my teaching. Some need the printed paper. A combination could work, but less screentime seems to be beneficial.

One of the municipality’s most important tasks is to invest in sports facilities and opportunities for exercise and recreation.
Get out, enjoy the nature. Of course, some facilities are certainly needed, but would not call this one of the most important tasks.

It is important to provide all residents with equal opportunities for cultural activities.
It is said culture can function as a medicine. It is important to provide different cultural events for a small or non existent fee

The municipality should introduce or improve opportunities for residents to influence how municipal funds are used through participatory budgeting.
This has activated different parts of the city to activate the neighbourhoods to vote. People seem more invested in their near surroundings, which is good.
6 / 11
The municipality should invest in public transportation.
This is necessary in growing cities. If implemented poorly , it will lead to even more cars in the trafic.
7 / 11
It should be possible to be a resident in more than one municipality, for example, through digital municipal citizenship.
8 / 11
The municipality should better facilitate the expansion of renewable energy, such as solar and wind power.
9 / 11
The municipality should mix more housing types in planning than is currently the case.
