"I am standing as a candidate in the municipal elections because I want to continue to be part of the effort to make a good municipality even better."
For me, the decision to stand as a candidate in the municipal elections was an easy one. My time in the council, the licensing board, and the board of education and upbringing, Finnish section, has been both interesting and rewarding. I have had to familiarize myself with many things and learned a lot - knowledge is a prerequisite for making good decisions.
I have lived in Sandsund for 35 years, have three adult children, and three grandchildren. As a person, I am social and positive. I get along well with others, and to achieve results, one must be able to cooperate. However, I have the courage to speak my mind if I disagree or if something goes against my values.
What is close to my heart are children and youngsters. This is quite natural, as I have worked in education for a long time and still work with young people, now as a substitute counselor at a child protection unit.
Pedersöre has invested in daycare centers, preschools, and schools, but there is always more to do to maintain the high standard. Sufficient resources in the form of staff and appropriate, healthy buildings are essential for the well-being of children and students.
I want our roads and pedestrian and bicycle paths to be in good condition, and for us to be able to offer housing for those who want to move to our municipality.
Pedersöre is a business-friendly municipality, and I hope it remains that way.
When it comes to culture, leisure, and sports, the municipality has made significant investments. These aspects enhance the quality of life for both the young and the elderly and help ensure that our residents stay healthy.
