"“Building Vörås Future through Expertise, Teamwork, and Innovation""
I’m a married mother of five, founder and CEO of a communications agency, and a doctoral researcher in political communication. I have worked in politics for many years, and I am passionate about developing society, embracing change, and facing new challenges. My experience in national politics, regional influence, and local work in the municipality over the past four years has strengthened my desire to continue developing society for the benefit of the next generation.
Important political topics
Economy & Business
The economy of Vörå is strong, thanks especially to small and medium-sized enterprises. These businesses bring vitality and form the foundation of the municipality's services. In the future, they will become even more important as we strive to attract new investments. The municipal economy will face greater challenges in the coming years, and demographic changes will bring new challenges. To maintain a balanced and sustainable economy, we need to think in new ways. We must conduct broader risk assessments and increase cooperation with other municipalities and stakeholders. Structural reforms will continue, and we must be ready to initiate and create opportunities for the economy and society. A responsible economy is risk-aware, long-term, and future-oriented, and achieving this balance will be our greatest challenge in the coming term.
Children, Youth, and Families
We are close to achieving UNICEF's model for a child-friendly municipality. However, this does not mean that everything is ready; the work continues to ensure we can operate broadly and in the best possible way for children and youth. Continuous support for associations creates a solid foundation, and we now have a growing, coordinated youth activity that needs space and support in the future as well. Through this work, we can both prevent problems from arising and address existing challenges with a long-term and attentive approach. The municipality's opportunity is to build relationships and dialogue with children and youth from an early age, which will benefit return migration in the long term.
By ensuring high quality of life and a safe service environment, we can also carry out preventive work for families. Current and future investments in culture, recreation, and well-being will strengthen the quality of life. In the future, we must respond to new needs in these areas as well.
The best schools
Education is a top priority for us. It's about providing an educational path from an early age and ensuring our education system meets the municipality's competence needs. Striking a balance between primary school, secondary education, and adult education is crucial for both our residents and society. We need to invest in healthy, functional facilities and prepare for demographic changes over the next 10-15 years. The Finnish school in Oravais has had a great start, and we aim to see bilingual and multilingual education flourish in all our schools.
Integrating new children and young people into our community is also a top priority. There is a lot of potential for development here through collaboration with the welfare sector, youth work, and leisure activities to create new solutions. Schools must have sufficient resources to meet demands, and cooperation between schools is an opportunity to strengthen competencies and broaden perspectives. Our staff is key: by investing in their well-being and professional development, we create a stronger environment for our schools and the entire municipality in the future.
