Sandra Högström

"For equal rights to well-being"

I am an energetic and ambitious resident of Vaasa. I moved to the city 10 years ago and started my first internship as a nurse at the central hospital. Since then, Ostrobothnia has become my home and nursing more than a job.

I started my career in substance abuse care and moved on from there to criminal care. Since February I work at the childrens forensic psychiatric unit at Vaasan keskussairaala. My job there is within the national project Barnahus, which aims to improve the care and treatment of children that have experienced violence.

At the city council elections 2021 I got elected as a substitute member of the city council of Vaasa. To be nominated as a candidate for the county elections is an honor for me. Health and welfare is my area of expertise and one that I am passionate about.

I want to promote early treatment, co-operation within services and accessible, fast care.

Social care and the child protective services are a last resort for many, which is why it is important to secure the necessary resources for those services. It is imperative that ensuring the safe upbringing of our children and our youth will be a top priority in our county.
